Grips and Fixtures for Materials testing
TTS can offer new grips and fixtures to suit any test application and are designed to fit most OEM machines. All our grips and fixtures are manufactured here in the UK to the most exacting specifications.
Our grips are supplied and priced as a pair and include a standard set of jaws, exceptions are fixtures such as bending jigs, friction testing etc where the upper part is completely different from the bottom. All grips and fixtures come complete and ready to use and are adapted to suit your particular testing machine. Due to the large quantity of different testing machines in the market we keep our grips as piece parts and assemble to order.
Our grips are significantly more cost effective than OEM grips and but made to equally high standards.
Vice Grips
Single acting and double acting vice grips (manual vise grips to our US clients), for precision tension testing of flat samples of rubbers, plastics, films, fabrics, paper, and laminates. You can also offset samples for shear testing as required, and perform tests such as the trouser tear test for fabrics.
Our manual vice grips are ideally suited for capacities of 50kN or less. Available with various capacities, face widths, and face styles, there is a vice grip to suit your requirements.
Each vice grip is design and made here in the UK to exceptionally high standards, for consistently accurate testing year in, year out.

A low mass vice grip for very low loads. The jaws are 50mm wide and open up to 4mm. They are rubber coated for maximum friction.

This is a single sided vice grip for thin samples. Rubber coated faces are fitted as standard. The gripping force is applied by a threaded rod which is cross drilled to allow the use of a bar to increase the clamping force.

This grip is similar to ST8 but has the advantage that both sides are adjustable, allowing the sample to be centred. This arrangement gives the best results, avoiding bending forces in the sample and on the loadcell.

A general purpose vice grip for loads up to 5kN. The grip is double sided to allow the sample to be centralised, avoiding bending loads on the loadcell and sample. Sample width with the standard jaws is 40mm, with an opening of 12mm. Wider jaws can be made on request.
